Description

Weld-on barbs are used when a simple hose barb is needed on an existing pipe. For example, when building custom intercooler piping for a Mk4 1.8T a barb is needed for the N75 valve. Until now, finding a stainless steel barb for this application has been nearly impossible. Our weld-on barbs are CNC machined from 304 stainless steel and available in four sizes. When ordering, be sure to select the size that suits your application. All barbs are measured by their OD to fit the rated ID of standard tubing.

1/4" barbs are machined to fit 1/4" ID tubing. They measure .920" long and feature a 1/4" OD step designed to allow the barb to sit neatly in a 1/4" hole. The ID of this barb is .185" through.

5/16" barbs are machined to fit 5/16" ID tubing. They measure .875" long and feature a 11/32" OD step designed to allow the barb to sit neatly in a 11/32" hole. The ID of this barb is .235" through.

3/8" barbs are machined to fit 3/8" ID tubing. They measure .900" long and feature a 3/8" OD step designed to allow the barb to sit neatly in a 3/8" hole. The ID of this barb is .290" through.

1/2" barbs are machined to fit 1/2" ID tubing. They measure .940" long and feature a 1/2" OD step designed to allow the barb to sit neatly in a 1/2" hole. The ID of this barb is .405" through.

Fitments

We use these barbs throughout our intake and coolant system products to create simple hose barbs. Sizes and projects vary. We can't tell you what size barb you need. You must measure the tubing you plan to connect to the barb before ordering. Likewise, test fit the barb before welding onto your piping. If in doubt, we're here to help as much as we possibly can.
