New TT Intake Design I'm Working On...

This intake has been a long time in the making. After scrapping a few designs that just weren't good enough I sat down and machined exactly what I wanted. What you're looking at is a CNC machined 6" velocity stack. The stack slides through my heatshield and attaches to a custom MAF adaptor. The MAF adaptor allows the MAF to be bolted to the intake with an o-ring seal against the MAF and an o-ring seal between the adaptor and the stack. The inside of the adaptor and the stack have been machined to exactly match the ID of the MAF inlet. The MAF screen is retained to keep the ECU happy. The velocity stack combined with the 6" filter allow air to be drawn equally from all sides of the filter. The heatshield is laser cut from 16 gauge 304 stainless steel and TIG welded together. The heatshield is designed to block the filter from drawing hot air from below. It bolts up rock solid in two locations. The velocity stack bolts directly to the heatshield using 6 button head cap screws. Additional laser cutting exposes the relief machining on the back of the stack. The entire shield is powdercoated satin black.

I'm really happy with the way this intake has progressed. The heatshield is accurately built and bolts down rock solid. The entire intake bolts together solid. The filter will never move. That means it will never rub against anything in your engine bay, keeping it's shape forever. The only thing I have left to do is the SAI filter. I will be machining a connector for the stock tubing that adapts a breather filter and providing a solid mounting method. We've been road testing this intake for 3 months, it's about time I finished it up.

Looking to do a final release before the new year. Just thought I would share...
