Description

NPT weld bungs are used throughout our product line to create threaded ports of many types. We offer our plugs individually for custom use. Our plugs are machined from 304 stainless steel and available in four sizes. When ordering, be sure to select the size that suits your application.

1/8" NPT bungs are internally threaded 1/8"-27 with a taper pipe thread. They measure .625" in diameter and .5" tall.

1/4" NPT bungs are internally threaded 1/4"-18 with a taper pipe thread. They measure .785" in diameter and .58" tall.

3/8" NPT bungs are internally threaded 3/8"-18 with a taper pipe thread. They measure .9" in diameter and .625" tall.

1/2" NPT bungs are internally threaded 1/2"-14 with a taper pipe thread. They measure 1.09" in diameter and .73" tall.

Our weld bungs are machined from castings of 304 stainless. Due to variations in the castings, dimensions provided may vary +/- .01". Stainless steel can be used anywhere on the motor - intake, exhaust, even coolant. When used on an exhaust system we recommend the use of anti-sieze compound when installing a plug or sensor. Stainless steel threaded plugs are not recommended - use steel. When used in the intake or coolant systems we recommend the use of teflon tape when installing a sensor, fitting, or plug.

Common Fitments

1/8" and 1/4" NPT bungs are used to create EGT ports in a custom downpipe. Size varies by sensor - we provide 1/4" in our downpipes.
1/4" NPT bungs are used to create drain ports on our Oil Catch Cans and VR6 Coolant Pipes. They can also be used to install water/meth injection nozzles in stainless steel boost piping.
3/8" NPT bungs are typically used to install Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensors.
1/2" NPT bungs are typically used to add large barb fittings to boost and intake piping for PCV recirculation.
